Dr. Stan J. Tharp, Speaker and Author

Dr. Stan J. Tharp is an atypical leader starting with his education. His undergraduate degree is a double major in Business and Biblical Studies (an atypical combination). His graduate studies expand his atypical business and Bible combination to include a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Arts (MA) in Pastoral Counseling and Psychology, and a Doctorate of Ministry (D. Min.) in Conflict Management.

Gifted Communicator: He communicates to a wide audience over the past 45 years that include: corporate executives, military officers, business owners, doctors, lawyers, full time homemakers and university students. His communication is inspirational and consistently affirmed.

Outstanding leader: Over the past 40 years, he served as the lead pastor of Christian Life Center (CLC) in Dayton, Ohio. In 1990, the organization was in severe debt and organizational disarray when Stan took the reins of leadership. Under his leadership, the CLC congregation reached thousands every weekend, the annual budget grew over $11M, and the organization gave away nearly 40% of their revenue to other non-profits and relief agencies locally, nationally and internationally. In late 2024, he handed off his lead pastor role via strategic succession planning when CLC was thriving. Now, he serves as a mentor to church and business leaders in a variety of organizations.

Wind beneath their wings: Stan desires to help church and business leaders catch and harness the “wind beneath their wings” required to soar. He coined that phrase while working in a humanitarian partnership with leaders in Eswatini, Africa. Whether he is helping non-profit executives in difficult urban environments, humanitarians in impoverished nations, or business executives struggling to master new challenges, Stan desires to provide people with the encouraging and insightful lift needed for their current season and hope for their vision.
